Marksman Security now hiring for experienced security officers. Ideal candidates will have previous security officer, security guard (armed or unarmed) experience, military and/or law enforcement experience.

Duties and job functions include lobby desk, patrol, control center, access control, emergency response and risk management. The ideal candidates' traits: exceptional people skills, professional image, attention to detail, takes ownership, committed to team success, outgoing, and driven.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deter criminal activity and misconduct
  • Respond to alarms, calls of distress, or emergencies such as fire, injuries or presence of unauthorized persons by calling police, fire departments and/or local emergency response teams.
  • Makes periodic patrols to check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons
  • Prepare clear, concise, accurate reports.
  • Operate access control systems, utilize a computer for incident reports, navigate security software systems or applications and use email.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills, professional demeanor, and appearance.
  • Demonstrate experience managing multiple tasks, executing radio and telephone communications and performing in a high-pressure environment
  • Other duties to be determined by security supervisor

Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • 21 years of age
  • Valid state licensing, if applicable
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
  • Technology skills: operate access control system, utilize a computer for incident reports, operate security software systems or applications, use email.
  • Strong customer service skills, professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks, executing radio and telephone communications while performing in a medium to high pressure environment with frequently changing and/or competing demands.
  • Familiarity with report writing
  • Excellent surveillance and observation skills
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior law enforcement experience, military and/or corrections experience
  • Two years of customer service experience
  • Two years of security experience
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Law Enforcement, Corrections, or Military Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice or something similar
