PART-TIME Elementary Academic Enrichment/Talented and Gifted Teacher
Overview
Oradell Public School, an 800 student K-6 school in Bergen County, is seeking a teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will work with students who qualify and gifted and talented or require academic enrichment. The individual will also be expected to collaborate with classroom staff to provide differentiation strategies high achieving students.
Essential Functions
  • Provide direct instruction to students identified as gifted and talented.
  • Develop and implement a flexible, curriculum-based, enrichment program designed to meet the gifted pupils' academic needs while nurturing collaboration through group interaction.
  • Serve as a resource person for classroom teachers, providing materials, ideas, and differentiated instructional methods, to ensure appropriate educational experiences for gifted students in the regular classroom.
  • Work with administration to develop in-service training for colleagues, designed to foster the use of differentiated instructional strategies in order to meet the needs of gifted learners in the regular classroom.
  • Confer with parents concerning individual students.
  • Develop and maintain records and reports as necessary to assess the effectiveness of the program.

Education and Certification/License
  • Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate - Elementary Education

Experience
  • Experience with elementary age students required.

Compensation
  • The position is paid in alignment with the Oradell Education Association salary guide with a FTE range of $58,500 - $108,175.
  • This Part-Time position does not include medical benefits. It does include paid sick time and personal days.
