As of Jun 26, 2026, the average yearly pay for part time electrical engineer training in the United States is $86,381.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $65,000.00 and $103,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Is it possible to work part-time as an engineer?

Part-time electrical engineering positions are available in various industries, often requiring specific skills such as circuit design, programming, and familiarity with engineering tools. These roles may involve flexible schedules, but availability depends on employer needs and project requirements.

How to get into electrical engineering with no experience?

To enter electrical engineering with no experience, start by obtaining a relevant degree such as a bachelor's in electrical engineering or a related field. Gaining practical skills through internships, online courses, or certifications in tools like MATLAB or AutoCAD can also improve your prospects; entry-level positions often require foundational knowledge and a willingness to learn on the job.

What is the difference between Part Time Electrical Engineer Training vs Part Time Electrical Technician Training?

Both are essential in the electrical industry but serve different roles and career paths.

Can you make $500,000 as an electrical engineer?

Earning $500,000 as a part-time electrical engineer is uncommon, as most salaries for this role are significantly lower, especially in part-time positions. High earnings typically require extensive experience, specialized skills, advanced certifications, or leadership roles in large companies or consulting firms. Part-time roles generally do not offer such high compensation levels.

What jobs can an EE student do?

Electrical engineering students can work as intern or assistant roles in electronics design, testing, or maintenance, often supporting engineering teams. These positions typically require knowledge of circuit analysis, CAD tools, and safety protocols, and may be part-time or project-based to accommodate their studies.
