Job description

Mr. Electric of Oak Park is seeking a Licensed Electrician who is experienced with local permitting requirements and can efficiently pull electrical permits across Oak Park, River Forest, Chicago, and surrounding municipalities. This is a part time role ideal for a electrician who prefers flexible scheduling, light fieldwork, and administrative permit responsibilities rather than full time service calls. 
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Pull electrical permits for residential and light commercial projects in Oak Park and nearby jurisdictions
  • Coordinate with village/city building departments to ensure timely permit approval
  • Maintain accurate records of permit applications, approvals, and inspections
  • Communicate with office staff regarding permit status, scheduling, and required documentation
  • Occasionally perform site visits for permit related verification or inspection readiness
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, and municipal requirements
Job Requirements:
  • Valid electrical license with the ability to pull permits in Oak Park and surrounding municipalities
  • Familiarity with Chicago area permitting processes (Oak Park, River Forest, Berwyn, Cicero, Chicago, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of residential electrical code compliance
  • Professional communication skills and reliability
  • Valid driver’s license
