About the Employer
The Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) is a service agency supporting the county's 23 school districts that serve nearly 430,000 students. RCOE provides administrative support to districts, leads programs for preschool, special education, pregnant minor, corrections, migrant, and vocational students, and offers professional training, support and resources for teachers, administrators, and staff throughout Riverside County.
Job Summary
The job of Instructional Assistant, Alternative Education (Title I) is done for the purpose(s) of providing intensive intervention support services, providing academic remediation lessons/activities, maintaining a safe classroom environment with at-risk students, documenting and/or providing academic/behavioral assessment data that may be used in a court of law, ensuring compliance with drug/alcohol programs, assisting with weapon/drug searches, and processing new students in accordance with Alternative Education requirements.

Requirements / Qualifications
  • Copy of Transcript (Optional: In order to bypass testing, a copy of legible transcripts must be attached to your application showing successful passing of 48 or more eligible semester units from an accredited college/university. (Must attach transcripts showing grades earned - Diploma copies will not be accepted)
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (One (1) Letter of Recommendation are required and must be signed by the author. The signature block must include the author's name and title/relationship to the applicant. Letters must be dated within the last 2 years prior to the position closing date. Letters without author's signature, name and title/relationship to the applicant and letters without a date or dated more than 2 years prior to the position closing date will not be accepted. One letter from a supervisor is preferred.)
