Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an editorial assistant and the University Press. This position requires in-office hours at the Press's offices on the Dahlonega campus. This is a limited-term position with a 12 week work term.

Responsibilities
  • Marketing activities including social media post creation and account maintenance, Edelweiss digital catalog maintenance, metadata creation and maintenance, and blog website updates and maintenance and other marketing assignments as assigned by the Marketing and Content Manager.
  • Internal and external communications management including monitoring and answering emails for UNG Press general email, answering phones, and fulfilling OER instructor materials request.
  • Editing and research assignments as assigned by the Marketing and Content Manager and Acting Director.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook)
  • Strong written and professional communication skills
  • Editing fundamentals (grammar, style, clarity)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic research skills
  • Customer service and professional phone/email etiquette
  • Ability to learn new digital tools and publishing platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED

Preferred Qualifications
  • No prior experience required though some office experience is preferred

Proposed Salary
  • The proposed salary is: $13.73-$15.10 hour.
