Job description

Foxconn Industrial Internet is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable HR Associate Intern to join our Human Resources team in Houston, TX for the Fall 2026 Internship Program. This is a part-time, 20-hour-per-week role running for 13 weeks. (August 31 - November 27, 2026).
In this role, the intern will focus on two primary workstreams: (1) consolidating and standardizing the company's job description database into a single, unified master file; and (2) auditing I-9 employment eligibility records to ensure compliance with federal requirements. In addition, the intern will provide support to the Learning & Development function, including managing training records and researching learning resources for the company's internal training platform.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review the current job description (JD) database across departments and sites to identify inconsistencies in format, content, and terminology.
  • Consolidate all existing job descriptions into a single master file using a unified, standardized template.
  • Edit and reformat individual JDs as needed to align with the approved template, branding, and required sections (e.g., duties, qualifications, physical requirements).
  • Support the audit of I-9 employment eligibility files by reviewing records for completeness and flagging any missing or expiring documentation for HR review.
  • Assist with consolidating training data from multiple sources to help ensure records are accurate, consistent, and ready for reporting and analysis.
  • Conduct research on Learning & Development (L&D) resources and tools to support the evaluation and buildout of the company's internal training platform.
  • Provide general HR administrative support as needed, including document filing, data entry, and assistance with onboarding-related tasks.
  • Handle all employee records and personnel information with professionalism and strict confidentiality.

REQUIRED SKILLS & TECHNICAL PROFICIENCIES
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for document formatting, data entry, and file organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when reviewing compliance-related documentation.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and structure large volumes of documents and files.
  • Strong written communication skills for editing and standardizing job description content.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive employee records.
  • Basic understanding of HR recordkeeping practices and compliance requirements is a plus; training will be provided.
  • Comfortable working independently on structured projects while checking in regularly with a mentor.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related business field.
  • Detail-oriented and methodical, with a strong commitment to accuracy and documentation quality.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to manage assigned workstreams independently while collaborating closely with the HR team.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic manufacturing environment where priorities can shift and adaptability is key.
  • Demonstrates integrity and sound judgment when handling confidential employee information.
  • Able to follow established processes and templates precisely while flagging inconsistencies or gaps.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.

WORK SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
  • Part-time: 20 hours per week.
