Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is seeking a creative and driven Social Media Ambassador to support Campus Recreation and Wellness in promoting its programs, services, and events. This part-time role provides a unique opportunity to showcase a diverse range of health, wellness, and community engagement initiatives. The Social Media Ambassador will collaborate with professional and student staff to create captivating content that aligns with CRW's commitment to foster healthy, balanced lifestyles for the UNG campus community. The ideal candidate should have an interest in well-being, be committed to promoting positive health behaviors and relevant health issues relevant among UNG students through engaging and innovative content.
Responsibilities
  • Capture high-quality photos and videos at Campus Recreation and Wellness events, programs, and facilities to create engaging social media posts.
  • Attend and document CRW events, including those outside of regular office hours and weekends, as needed.
  • Travel to and cover events or appearances as requested, ensuring dynamic coverage of CRW's activities. Travel may be required to all five campuses on occasion.
  • Work closely with both professional and student staff across various departments to ensure content aligns with CRW's goals and messaging.
  • Coordinate with the Well-being Coordinator to plan, review, and schedule posts on CRW social media platforms.
  • Stay current with social media trends, tools, and strategies, recommending innovative ways to increase engagement and reach.
  • Ensure all content adheres to CRW's branding guidelines and reflects the department's values and mission.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Skilled in using Meta apps (Instagram, Facebook, Business Suite), editing software (Canva, Adobe, or similar), and camera operations (photo and video.
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and to be able to communicate effectively with their peers, University employees and possibly, community agencies.
  • Must be able to work as a team member and independently ("self-starter").
  • Must be able to organize and manage a variety of projects simultaneously.
  • Must possess positive work attitude and be dependable and responsible.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • Must be in good academic standing (2.5 GPA).
  • One year of personal or professional social media marketing, photography, videography, or editing skills.
