KENL INN JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Facility Maintenance

Job Status: Non-Exempt / Full or Part time

Reports to: General Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities: No


Facility Maintenance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and structural systems within our facility. Your expertise will help create a safe and comfortable environment for our pets and staff, contributing to an exceptional guest experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems or KI suppliers to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as power outages, plumbing leaks, and equipment failures, and take necessary actions to mitigate the impact on guests and staff.
  • Equipment Monitoring: Monitor and maintain facility equipment, including to ensure its reliability and safety.
  • Energy Efficiency: Implement energy-saving measures and eco-friendly practices to reduce utility costs and minimize the facilities environmental footprint.
  • Project Management: As requested by General Manager
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and work orders to track maintenance history and plan for future maintenance needs.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations, conducting regular safety inspections and addressing any identified hazards promptly.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and guidance to staff on safety procedures and equipment operation to promote a safe working environment.
  • Vendor Relations: Coordinate with external contractors, suppliers, and vendors for specialized maintenance and repair services when necessary.
  • Budget Management: Assist in budget planning by providing input on maintenance and repair needs and controlling expenses within budgetary constraints.
  • Routinely mow KENL INN properties including the front, sides, agility field, and hiking trail
  • Routinely trim grasses and plants to acceptable height
  • Control noxious weeds with the use of chemicals
  • Remove snow in parking lots using a tractor
  • Routine facility inspections and reporting

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Technical certifications or vocational training in relevant fields are preferred.
  • Proven experience in facility maintenance, or a related role.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and energy-efficient practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in emergency situations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with guests, staff, manager and external partners.
  • Physically fit to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, Saturday, and holidays, as needed.
  • Knowledge of maintenance management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of customer and company information
  • Ability to learn KENL INNs Code of Ethics, Pet Care Code of Ethics, KENL INN policies, law, and ability to implement principals and regulations within job duties and interactions
  • Valid driver's license required

Pay - $20.00+ an hour, depending on experience

Work Schedule - Days need to be flexible based on customers and team's needs
