Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for providing direct support to People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities in a group home setting. Part-Time staff must commit to working EVERY Thursday thru Sunday.

Position responsibilities:

Provide support to each individual in the following ways (as needed): cooking/meal preparation, housekeeping, changing clothes, bathing, escorting individuals in the community, active treatment/assist with achieving specific goals, etc.

Responsible for basic health, safety and supervision of People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities.

Implement Plans effectively to address individual needs.

Interact, and communicate positively with People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities and treat them with dignity and respect at all times.

Work collaborative as a team; display a positive, flexible, and cooperative attitude towards People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, coworkers and supervisors.

Report or communicate all information pertinent to the continuity of care for People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities to immediate supervisor.

Effectively and legibly complete required documentation.

Comply with all CMS and DDS regulations and policies and attend all CMS and DDS required meetings and training.

Other duties as assigned.

Essential skills and experience:

High School Diploma/GED

Physical/Criminal Background Check

CPR/First Aide

18 years of age, or older

Valid Driver License

Completion of DC Required Phase Trainings/Orientation training.
Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination Status

Nonessential skills and experience:

Caretaking/Healthcare experience

Experience working with People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities.

HHA/MA/CNA/TME certification a plus

Sign Language a plus

Reporting to this position: No direct reports

Physical demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable People/Persons with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and/or hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move 25 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Job Type: Part-time (32 hours per week)

Pay: $18 per hour
