Job description

Driver is for providing reliable and courteous transportation to individuals with safety a top priority; provide a communication link between individuals and staff; operate and maintain assigned vehicles; and to maintain vehicle and individual's records.  Looking for drivers to commit to a minimum of 10 hours a week.  Sign on bonus for those who work 20 hours a week or more only.

Shifts:

AM 6:45am - 9:45am

PM 2:30pm - 5:30pm

Compensation:

$21.00 per hour

Prefer that candidate works a minimum of 10 hours per week.

Sign On Bonus for those who work 20 hours or more per week.

Affirm Individual Rights and Dignity including, but not limited to:

  • Ensure that individuals are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Minute Man's Human Rights Policy and DDS (Department of Developmental Disabilities) regulations.
  • Assist individuals in maintaining their privacy and confidentiality.
  • Support individual's ethnic and religious preferences.
  • Ensure individuals have the right to be free from harm or abuse.

As a mandated reporter, staff must understand DPPC guidelines and appropriately utilize the reporting process. Duties may also include filling out incident reports and writing notes in the communication log. Drug screen, proof of physical and criminal background check process required.

  • Operate and maintain transportation vehicles with a focus on safety and consumer courtesy.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks on the vehicles, when necessary.
  • Fuel the vehicles, as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate, up to date records on trip sheets, consumer transportation forms, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested.
  • Assist individuals in and out of the vehicle ensuring that all required safety equipment is utilized in the process of transporting consumers. This will include, but may not be limited to, operating ramps, lifts, and utilizing securement devices, as needed.
  • Read and interpret maps and driving directions to take the most efficient route. and read and interpret road signs in English.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
