About Our Family

Located in Mill Valley on a spacious property, we're a warm, grounded, and close-knit family of four with a daughter (6.5 years old) and son (nearly 4 years old) who both attend a Montessori school full-time. We have two medium-sized, older dogs (25 pounds each) who are incredibly friendly and love being around people. We love spending time together at home and have intentionally created a spacious, relaxed environment where we spend time outdoors in our large yard, teach our children to cook and bake, and enjoy each other's company. Within our home, we have multiple Montessori-inspired spaces for our kids to grow and explore at their own pacea value that's highly important to our family.

We have a calm, grounded, and intentional approach to life and prioritize truly being present with each other and spending quality time together. One parent balances working from home while commuting to the city, while the other is making an exciting career transition that will have them working outside the home. With our busy schedules, we're looking for long-term, consistent, and proactive support to create and maintain meaningful systems in our home that lighten the mental load of the household tasks that feel overwhelming, so we can focus on what matters most to us: spending time together as partners, having fun as a family, and truly enjoying our time with our kids.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

We're looking for a highly organized, proactive House Manager who enjoys staying productive and feels passionate and energized about creating and maintaining new systems to keep a home running smoothly. You're easily able to see what needs to be done and take initiative to create new systems with little direction or feedback.

You have a calm, grounded presence and bring warmth and exceptional professionalism to your work environment. You have high emotional intelligence and know when to step in, when to step back, and how to support without disrupting the home's relaxed, laid-back energy. You are comfortable taking cues from the family's preferences and routines in order to confidently take ownership of new systems and responsibilities. You lead by example in setting up fun, relaxed, and organized spaces, especially for children, and are comfortable supporting light child care and occasional drop-offs/pick-ups when needed. While not required, it would also be great if you're familiar with the Montessori method and approach to tidying, toy rotation, and space setup.

While the home is deep-cleaned twice a month, we're seeking a true powerhouse who can easily understand what systems our home needs and implement them seamlessly. We'd specifically love someone who can support us on a weekly basis with managing household laundry and dishes, general tidying and organizing (especially high-traffic areas), refreshing kids' Montessori spaces, tracking/restocking household items, light food prep (washing/chopping veggies, packing school lunches), light child and pet care so we can have date nights twice a month, and resetting the yard (clearing the tennis court, children's toys). This will allow us to focus on spending more relaxed, quality time together as a familysomething really important to us, especially as our schedules shift.

The ideal person for this role is someone who naturally anticipates needs and helps create an environment where the family feels genuinely supported, rather than needing to direct, manage, or delegate details or tasks. You must be comfortable around medium-sized dogs and young children, be able to navigate a large property easily, and feel aligned with a lifestyle that values health, wellness, and calm, intentional living.
