Job description

Join Our Team at The Barkery: Dog Bakery Production & Customer Experience Team Member

Love baking, decorating AND pets? This might be the job for you!

The Barkery is looking for a creative, dependable person to join our dog bakery and customer-service team. You'll help produce the all-natural treats we've been making for local dogs for 20 years — including baking, icing and decorating cookies, packaging treats and preparing products for our retail store and online customers.

But this isn't a behind-the-scenes-only bakery position. Everyone at The Barkery helps our customers. You'll also work out front, learn about our foods, treats and products, assist customers, stock merchandise, fill online orders, help with our self-serve dog wash and pitch in wherever needed.

We're looking for someone who:

Enjoys baking, decorating or other detailed, creative hands-on work

Has strong communication and customer-service skills

Has meaningful experience owning and caring for pets

Is dependable, organized and able to work independently

Can comfortably switch between bakery production and helping customers

Doesn't mind cleaning, physical work or being on their feet

Can lift up to 50 lbs.

Is at least 18 years old and has reliable transportation

Professional baking experience is not required. Baking, cake/cookie decorating, food preparation, crafting or other detail-oriented experience is a plus, and we're willing to train the right person.

SCHEDULE: Approximately 25–35 hours per week, with additional hours available during the holiday season. Weekday shifts may begin as early as 11:00 AM, and applicants must be available to work until 6:30 PM on scheduled weekdays Tuesday–Friday. One weekend day every week is required.

PAY: $17–$21/hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Benefits include employee discount, free self-serve dog washes for employee pets, consistent scheduling, no late nights, product/pet-nutrition education, and opportunities for additional hours during busy periods.
