The New York Post video team is seeking an on-call part-time Video Editor (various shifts, as needed) to help create compelling, shareable videos. Someone who believes news doesn't have to be boring and who appreciates the odd and unconventional stories as well as important ones.

Responsibilities:
• Edit videos for digital platforms using a mix of original footage, stock footage and social media content
• Work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
• Must be knowledgeable across a variety of topic areas from national news, trends and tabloid fare
• Ability to write short compelling headlines, video descriptions, short-form scripts as well as conduct quick research on various topics
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years experience editing short form video for digital outlets
• Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere
• The ability to color correct and mix audio
• Experience with multicam editing, and working both with and without producers
• The ability to select and use music to match the tone and style of the story
• Excited about new types of multimedia storytelling and have a track record of
creating digital video in a fast-paced newsroom environment on weekly deadlines
• Aware of current events across a broad range of topics
• Knowledgeable and skilled to pitch across a variety of topic areas from national news, trends and tabloid fare
• Must be organized, work well in a fast-paced environment and be a team-player
• Experience working in a fast-paced newsroom environment on daily deadlines
• Motion graphics and simple animation experience a plus
• Knowledge about post production workflow a plus
Note: This role may be required to come on-site to our Midtown, NYC location.
Please note that this is a temporary engagement facilitated through a third-party vendor. While the role supports The New York Post, employment and payroll will be managed by the vendor.
Salary: $25-$40/Hr Based on experince

Base Pay Range: $25/Hr - $40/Hr
