We are seeking compassionate, reliable individuals interested in supporting others on an as-needed basis. As a Part Time Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In this flexible role, you will assist with community integration and inclusion, offer guidance to individuals and their support networks, and help create meaningful opportunities for participation in community activities.

You will ensure the health, safety, and overall well-being of individuals living in our residential setting by providing proper supervision and support.

The schedule for this position will be Friday from 3 PM to 10 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM.

We are seeking caring individuals looking for an opportunity to assist others. The Direct Support Professional provides care services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Direct Support Professional provides community integration/inclusion guidance, and consultation to individuals, families, and significant involved persons. In addition, they develop opportunities for persons with disabilities to participate in community activities while ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of residential participants living in the facility through proper supervision.

Qualifications Required

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Possess valid driver's license with acceptable driving record, MVD report and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to prepare required paperwork to support and document activities in the contractually required timelines.
  • Ability to type and working knowledge/familiarity with computers and electronic clinical record keeping.
  • Ability to successfully complete certification and trainings for First Aid, CPR, Article 9, Medication, and Prevention/Support, Direct Care Worker and any other required training. The agency will provide training if the candidate does not possess.
  • Able to operate independently with minimal oversight.
  • Demonstrated skills to ensure respectful communication to participants and coworkers.
  • Must obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card and pass a background check along with Central Registry Clearance.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and a varied schedule each week.

Qualifications Preferred

  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Sign Language.
  • Prior experience in Habilitation or Rehabilitation
  • Two years of experience in a person-centered community integration program assisting persons with developmental and/or psychiatric disabilities.
  • Two years of experience in habilitation/rehabilitative assistance to persons with psychiatric and/or developmental disabilities
  • Very strong interpersonal skills
