Digital Resources Assistant (Part-time): Manages the library's hardware and digital resources including discovery and implementation; works 15-28 hours per week.
Examples of Duties
  • Addresses inquiries and technical issues from the public in reference to the library's full range of electronic resources including apps, mobile devices, Wi-Fi configurations, eBook, eMagazine and eReference collections, Facebook, and the library's website.
  • Performs traditional library duties including but not limited to:
    • Recommending book purchases.
    • Assisting with children's and special programing.
    • Working at the circulation desk.
    • Recommending and locating titles for patrons.
    • Sorting and shelving library materials.
  • Addresses public and professional inquiries.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Receives incoming visitors and provides excellent customer service.
  • Ensures internal and external phone calls are answered courteously and professionally.
  • Maintains and updates files and other record keeping systems.

Education & Experience
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (afternoons, evenings and Saturdays).
  • Experience using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook).
  • Must possess strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, supervisors and employees.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough or difficult surfaces; recurring stooping, climbing or walking; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items weighing less than 25 pounds and may require occasional lifting of objects weighing in excess of 25 pounds. The work may require specific, but common physical characteristics and abilities such as mobility and dexterity.
The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions. Use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals are minimally required.
