  • Create and post engaging content across social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Twitter/X
  • Support live posting and real-time storytelling during events and actions
  • Draft captions, reels, stories, graphics, and short-form video content aligned with The Equity Alliance's voice and messaging
  • Work closely with communications, organizing, and leadership teams to promote campaigns, events, advocacy efforts, and rapid response actions
  • Help grow digital engagement by creating content that informs, inspires, and mobilizes community members
  • Monitor social media trends and identify culturally relevant opportunities for engagement
  • Support digital calls to action including event sign-ups, advocacy alerts, fundraising campaigns, and volunteer recruitment
  • Maintain organized content folders and assist with basic content planning and scheduling
  • Occasionally support community outreach and on-the-ground organizing efforts as needed

Ideal Candidate

  • Comfortable capturing content in fast-paced environments
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to write engaging and culturally relevant captions
  • Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, or similar content creation tools
  • Self-starter who can work independently while staying connected to the larger team
  • Organized, dependable, and responsive
  • Based in Memphis with reliable transportation to attend events and activities
  • Comfortable working evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing social media accounts for organizations, campaigns, brands, or community initiatives
  • Photography, videography, or video editing experience
  • Experience with advocacy, nonprofit, organizing, or political work
  • Familiarity with Black Memphis culture, local issues, and community spaces
