Job Description

We are seeking a Full-Stack Software Developer to support the ongoing development, enhancement, and maintenance of a mission-critical system operating across secure Canadian Forces networks. This role focuses on .NET and Angular-based application development, performance optimization, and secure deployment practices within a controlled environment. The successful candidate will contribute to both feature development and system stability, working within an Agile DevOps framework. 

This is a proactive recruitment initiative, with potential start dates in the coming weeks or months, contingent on contract award.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and enhance system features using established architecture and design patterns  
  • Review software requirements, identify gaps, and recommend optimal technical solutions  
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and application issues  
  • Analyze, validate, and test code against defined requirements  
  • Fix defects and implement performance improvements across the platform  
  • Design and implement deployment strategies for secure (CF) network environments  
  • Provide technical support and respond to user inquiries and issues  
  • Diagnose software and hardware problems and advise technical leadership  
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Azure DevOps environments, including CI/CD pipelines  
  • Contribute to system architecture improvements and scalability planning  

Technical Environment 

  • Frontend: Angular  
  • Backend: C# (.NET Framework), REST APIs  
  • Databases & Search: MongoDB, Solr  
  • Messaging & Real-Time: RabbitMQ, SignalR

Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience as a Software Developer 
  • College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or related field  
  • Strong hands-on experience with:  
    • C# / .NET Framework  
    • Angular (front-end development)  
    • MongoDB  
    • Azure DevOps (Agile, CI/CD pipelines)  
  • Experience developing and maintaining RESTful APIs  
  • Experience working in secure or enterprise environments  
  • Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize complex systems  

Asset Qualifications 

  • Experience installing, maintaining, and upgrading server operating systems  
  • Familiarity with distributed systems and messaging technologies (e.g., RabbitMQ)  
  • Experience with real-time communication frameworks (e.g., SignalR)  
  • Exposure to search platforms (e.g., Solr)  
  • Experience working within government or defence environments
