How you help the team

  • Prioritize providing exceptional customer service to deliver a positive customer experience thereby cultivating a positive reputation for the company and fostering customer loyalty.
  • Engage customers to educate our customers and sell our product. This may also include assisting with the set-up, maintaining a clean work area and assisting with the breakdown at the end of demo events.
  • Prepare and offer food samples, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
  • Create public interest in products and maintain professional relationships with store personnel. Always performing in an effective and efficient manner, minding ICS’s policies and procedures for all actions and decisions.
  • Introduce customers to new and exciting items and brands by conducting product tasting events, sampling, or demonstrations. Educate customers on the product's key benefits
  • Gather feedback and sharing it with the company
  • Working with the team to achieve sales goals for the products.
  • Create visually appealing displays in retail spaces and other designated locations to present the product offerings
  • Serving customers at the counter via a ticket number system.
  • Preparing, portioning, and wrapping meat, cheese, and olive items.
  • Using manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim food.
  • Preparing sandwiches and deli trays.
  • Updating displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing work areas as needed and according to the company cleaning standards.
  • Providing advice to customers regarding available products.
  • Answering the deli telephone and taking customer orders.
  • Promoting products and services that the ICS offers.
  • Representing ICS both in and out of the store.
  • Adhering to all food safety protocols, standard operating procedures, health and safety policies, and other programs and initiatives.
  • Other Duties as required

Qualifications 

  • High School or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferred

Experience 

  • A minimum of one-year experience in a food service or catering environment
  • A minimum of one-year experience using a deli slicer (preferred)

We are willing to train the right candidate, but most successful applicants have these skills 

  • Excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining a professional image at all times
  • Work independently with little direct supervision
  • Have a well-balanced concern for both task and people
  • Have a genuine concern for needs of customers

Working conditions 

  • Position requires employee to work a variety of shifts including mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Position also requires employee to work with challenging customers and/or situations
  • Cool temperatures when entering food coolers

Physical requirements

  • Long periods of standing and walking.
  • Frequent motions include bending, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, and reaching. 
  • Manual and repetitive tasks.
  • On occasion, you may be required to lift up to 22.5 kg (50 lbs).
