DESCRIPTIONINCIDENT & INVESTIGATIONS SPECIALIST
JOB SUMMARY:
The Incident and Investigations Specialist coordinates organization-wide efforts to ensure performance improvement efforts toward incident management and investigations are developed and managed using a data-driven focus that sets priorities for improvements aligned to ongoing strategic initiatives. He/she develops and communicates the strategic vision, scope and mission of the Incident Management & Investigations within the organization, assures that organization-wide quality improvement initiatives are focused and aligned on improving service delivery and ensuring a safe and secure environment for both individuals served and staff; participates in organizational strategic planning, and provides leadership for applicable policy development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Incidents and Investigation Manager with managing and ensuring implementation and effectiveness of the agency's critical incident and investigation system. Collaborates with the Executive and Human Resource Director, Program Directors, and Department Heads to report on as incidents in the agency's Performance Improvement Plan.
Investigates critical incidents
Researches and shares quality improvement practices with agency leadership. Makes suggestions on possible areas for improvement.
Researches and designs appropriate organization-wide quality training for all levels of management and employees pertaining to incident reporting and investigations.
Utilizes data based system tools to streamline, improve services, and enhance agency efficiency and effectiveness towards reducing effectiveness.
Promotes collaboration at all levels of the organization in order to enable the creation of a culture focused on continuous improvement of individual care and service delivery.
Assists with conducting quarterly and annual performance improvement analysis of critical incidents and investigations to identify areas needing improvement, developing actions plans to address these areas, and revising established outcome measures to improve the quality of services and facilitate organizational decision-making.
Establishes a continuous critical incident and investigations improvement effort towards efficiency and effectiveness of a data driven monitoring and reporting system.
Ensures that needed data is collected in a timely basis, regular reports are distributed and makes recommendations for future improvements based on data.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
He/she must be friendly, caring and who has good communication, organizational and research skills in order to prioritize duties and meet deadlines as they arise. He/she must have a personal vehicle and a valid Georgia driver's license. He/she must have a working knowledge of the Arc of Southwest Georgia's Mission and Vision as well as the agency's programs and services. He/she must have a knowledge and understanding of the agency's accreditation process and its value to the organization. He or she must have knowledge and or complete understanding of DBHDD and DCH guidelines.
He/she must have knowledge of the agency's Mission and Vision, strategic plan, and the agency's programs and services. He/she should have experience leading and coordinating successful internal strategic planning efforts and implementing continuous quality improvement processes and programs. He/she should have the ability to train staff in performance and quality improvement methodologies, demonstrated leadership and management experience, the ability to meet deadlines, and possess exemplary organizational skills.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
The environment will be that of the typical office atmosphere when required to work in the office. Travel may be required on occasion. On call may be required
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
He/she will be supervised by the Incidents and Investigations Manager and the Human Resource Director.
