They are ideal for individuals who need flexibility, such as students, parents, or those with other commitments. Shifts are usually scheduled between the early morning and late afternoon, and the total weekly hours generally range from 10 to 30. Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

Comprehensive Mobile Care (CMC) is seeking a Part-Time Optometrist (OD) to provide care at two outpatient clinics in Syracuse, NY.

This is a clinic-based role where you'll function as an extension of the clinical team within a coordinated, community-focused setting serving senior populations.

If you're looking for meaningful, mission-driven work with schedule consistency — without the overhead and administrative burden of running your own practice — this opportunity offers flexibility and professional support.

The Setting

This opportunity operates within a community-based outpatient clinic model.

• Clinic staff are on-site full time
• Organized scheduling and patient flow

• Diagnose and manage common ocular conditions within your scope of practice
• Prescribe corrective lenses and provide appropriate treatment recommendations
• Collaborate with clinic staff as part of an integrated care team
• Deliver patient-centered care in a structured outpatient setting

What Makes This Different

This is not a high-volume retail model.

Our optometrists are integrated into established clinic environments and represent Comprehensive Mobile Care directly within each partner location.

We emphasize:

• Quality over volume
• Consistency and predictability
• Administrative and logistical support
• Long-term clinic partnerships
• Ethical, mission-driven healthcare delivery

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program
• Active New York optometry license
• Experience treating senior populations preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and patient communication skills
• Comfortable practicing in outpatient clinic environments

Schedule

• Part Time (8 days per month)
• Typical hours: 8:30am - 4:30 pm
• No nights
• No weekends
• No billing or administrative responsibilities
