Job description

Position Description: As a member of the Health Sciences Division, the Success Coach is responsible for coordinating and conducting focused academic advising and student support services to help health science students persist in their program of study. The Success Coach works to ensure that students in health programs are guided toward the path of course, certificate, diploma, or degree completion by developing and implementing individual and small group intervention and prevention strategies to provide for goal establishment and increase persistence in learning. Provides services which include student advisement, academic progress review, and development and coordination of retention efforts for new and continuing students in health majors.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to working in a collaborative environment. Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual and accreditation standards. Follows rules and regulations as described by the TCSG Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.

This position will report directly to the Dean for Health Sciences. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Provides information on targeted career and educational pathways for health science students. Assists with competitive selection process.

Works collaboratively with dean, health division heads and program chairs to ensure consistency in program selection guidelines. Helps coordinate and plan information sessions on competitive selection process Conducts and analyzes on-going formative and summative evaluation data of program effectiveness, making modifications as necessary Completes all assigned trainings in a timely manner Other responsibilities as assigned. Job Competencies: Oral and written communication skills Decision making and problem-solving skills Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public Projected Work Hours / Location: This position generally works normal business day hours of 7:45 a.m

to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m

Friday, up to 19 hours per week. Position will be assigned to the Milledgeville campus and may require travel to any of the locations within the College's service area. This position will work all 12 calendar months per year and at up to 19 hours per week Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Must upload transcripts/licensure which show conferred educational degrees and document qualifications in the employment history: Earned Associate degree in a healthcare, counseling, education or closely related field from an academic institution that is accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education Documented three (3) years related full-time work experience in higher education environment (Prior advisement, teaching or training experience with adult learners) Preferred Qualifications, in addition to minimum qualifications: Preference may be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, provide transcripts of conferred degrees and demonstrate in the employment history possession of one or more of the following: Earned Bachelor's degree in a healthcare, counseling, education or closely related field from an academic institution that is accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education Active Georgia license/certification in good standing in a health-care field or related field Benefits Salary/Benefits: Salary varies based on the candidate's highest qualifying degree level at time of hire.

Part-time positions do not imply or suggest a continuance of employment or a promise of future full-time employment. CGTC is a member of Teachers Retirement System of Georgia (TRS) and Employees Retirement System of Georgia (ERS). Part-time positions are not eligible for TRS or ERS retirement benefits, state insurance, leave or holiday pay.
