Job Description

Position Summary:

  • Supplying materials required for laboratory exercises
  • Procuring, preparing, pretesting and labeling specimens, reagents and slides
  • Assisting the continuing education department with lab set-up and requirements
  • Participating in biological and chemical safety by providing spill response & following Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) procedures and regulations
  • Perform phlebotomy as required
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Additional duties as required
Qualifications
  • 3 years of related experience and certification with the Medical Laboratory Professionals' Association of Ontario (MLPAO) and/or College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) roster registration required 
  • Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) preferred
  • Sound problem solving and organizational skills
  • Experience in Chemistry, Microbiology, Genetics or Research preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Computer proficiency; specifically, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with lab analyzers (ACL,AcT5, AU, Virto’s, Spectrophotometer, Vitek, will be an asset)
