Adjunct Biology Instructor (Part-Time)Helix College & Career Academy Location: Florida Street Campus, Baton Rouge, LAInspire the Next Generation of Science LeadersHelix College & Career Academy (HCCA) is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Adjunct Biology Instructor to join our faculty. This part-time position is ideal for educators and professionals who are committed to student success and enjoy creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences.Adjunct instructors are appointed on a term-by-term basis, as instructional needs arise, and play a vital role in preparing students for academic and career success.ResponsibilitiesTeach assigned Biology courses using effective instructional strategies. Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment. Encourage critical thinking and student participation. Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and other required academic records. Support the mission and values of Helix College & Career Academy. Adhere to all institutional policies and the Faculty Handbook. Collaborate with faculty and administration to promote student success. Report directly to the Founding Dean of HCCA. Minimum QualificationsCandidates must meet one of the following qualifications:Master's degree in Biology or a closely related discipline; or Master's or doctoral degree in a medical or health-related field (such as M.D., D.V.M., or D.D.S.); or Master's degree in any discipline with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Biology or another biological or life science field. Related disciplines include, but are not limited to:Biology Biochemistry Cell or Molecular Biology Microbiology Genetics Ecology Environmental Science Marine Biology Biotechnology Biomedical Sciences Neuroscience Physiology Zoology Botany Exercise Physiology Public Health Veterinary Science And other closely related biological sciences. A maximum of six (6) graduate semester hours in Biology or Science Education may be applied toward the required 18 graduate semester hours.Preferred QualificationsPrevious college-level teaching experience. Experience using learning management systems (LMS). Strong communication and classroom management skills. A passion for mentoring and supporting diverse student populations.
