Accounting Clerk

Part-Time, Non-Exempt | 30 Hours/Week | Romeoville, IL

Custom Data Processing, Inc. (CDP) is a premier provider of data management systems and services for the public health community, including the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). We’re looking for a highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team at our Romeoville, IL office. In this role, you’ll support day-to-day accounting and office management activities, including processing bills, invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports, along with handling shipments, ordering supplies, and keeping our document repository organized.

Position Details
  • Status: Part-time, non-exempt with benefits
  • Hours: 30 hours per week
  • Ideal schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm CT (with some flexibility)
  • Location: On-site at our Romeoville, IL office for the first 6 months. After 6 months, a hybrid schedule can be discussed.
Responsibilities
  • Review and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper approvals
  • Resolve issues with invoices, vendor inquiries, and accounts payable
  • Create and process purchase orders, verifying invoices and approvals
  • Process and reconcile employee expense reports
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable payments
  • Maintain and organize financial records
  • Validate vendor tax information and assist with year-end 1099 submissions
  • Manage mail, package shipments, and office supply orders
  • Perform general office management tasks
  • Ensure confidentiality of financial information
Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide backup support for payroll reconciliations, accounts receivable, and asset management
  • Assist with financial projects and month-end and year-end processes
  • Review RFPs and contracts
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in accounting
  • 5+ years of experience in accounts payable or clerical accounting roles
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Solid understanding of general ledger functions and basic accounting principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • Within a commutable distance of our Romeoville, IL office

Compensation & Benefits

The hourly pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00. Actual compensation within that range is based on factors unique to each candidate during the hiring process. CDP also offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth and advancement within the company
