Vacancy Name Oncology Data Specialist - C Vacancy No VN432 Employment Type Part Time/Full Time Education Level N/A Experience Level 1 year Location US - Remote Additional Information Job Details The Oncology Data Specialist-Certified (ODS-C) is responsible for the review and detailed abstraction of cancer registry data from electronic medical records in compliance with state and national guidelines. The ODS-C is detail-oriented, committed to high-quality data abstraction, meets both quality and productivity standards, functions well independently, and works well under time constraints to ensure deadlines are met. Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 1 year of current data abstraction experience as a certified Oncology Data Specialist with the Cancer Registries
  • Current Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification, required
  • Cancer registry abstraction, data entry, and analysis
  • Proficient in registry related manuals, industry related registry software systems, and electronic medical record applications, required
Promotions currently available:
  • $1/hour pay increase after successful 90-day performance review for all new hires (Terms Apply)

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Abstracting and registry operations
  • Completion of timesheet and case log per company standard
  • Provide timely responses to questions and/or concerns
  • Follows all RP internal corporate policies and procedures as well as client specific policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing for extended periods of time, staring at a computer monitor for extended periods of time, climbing, walking, lifting 20lbs. or more, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, crawling, stooping and crouching. Ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions and orientation to the job, motor coordination skills, coordination of eyes and hands. Ability to understand words and respond effectively. Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly. Hot and/or Cold temperatures that result in significant body discomfort due to being away from your geographical area. Injury exposures due to assembly and/or repair to equipment. The tasks outlined in this job description are not all inclusive but are the core responsibilities of the position.
