Job Summary:

In this role you will plan, coordinate and perform complex civil engineering tasks to produce design and estimates for projects within the Manufacturing and Technology Business Unit. You will develop, evaluate, cooordinate, or modify design, drawings, specifications and requisitions for earthworks, stormwater and drainage infrastructure, roads, paving, fences and other civil works under the supervision of an Engineering Group Supervisor. You will supervise the work of engineers under your lead. Your technical expertise will ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project’s civil engineering aspects are met. 
"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”  #LI-ME1 

Major Responsibilities:
  • Plans and conducts independent civil engineering work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of Civil engineering techniques, procedures and criteria on a medium size project or assignment in support of a global business unit​ 
  • Leads the design, development, modification, and evaluation of Civil components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)​ and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs)​ 
  • Reviews and approves key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, change orders, and bid summaries for the project to which assigned 
  • Originates and checks complex Civil engineering deliverables, such as drainage and road design calculations, specifications, and material requisitions 
  • Develops conceptual designs for Civi engineering projects or projects having specialized or unique requirements​ 
  • Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and supports implementation and assists with performance reporting​ 
  • Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data​ 
  • Mentors Civil engineering personnel by providing on-the-job training for their professional development​ 
  • Leads constructability reviews 
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13  years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Recognized as advanced contributor with specialized skill set​
  • Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline​
  • Seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization, resolves a wide range of complex issues in creative and effective ways
