Job Title: Python Data Engineer

Type: Contract
Location: Houston, TX

Responsibilities
  • Design, Develop and troubleshoot Python based data pipelines for market risk analytics
  • Implement data quality controls and optimize performance for batch and near-real-time workflows
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and quantitative analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Automate workflows and contribute to coding standards, reviews and CI/CD processes.
  • Participate in production support and incident resolution.
Required
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 6-8 years of hands-on Python development for data processing and automation
  • Experience with data modelling. ETL/ELT pipelines, and operations monitoring
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, collaborative approach
  • Experience with version controlled workflows and CI/CD
Preferred
  • Proficiency in SQL (Oracle, SQL server, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience in Databricks, Pyspark, or Big Data/Data Lake technologies
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), object storage and IAM basics.
  • Familiarity with market risk concepts (VaR, Stress testing, sensitivities)
  • Exposure to AI assisted engineering or agentic tools
  • Experience in Banking/Finance or Risk Domains
