Description
The Infant Studies of Language and Neurocognitive Development (ISLAND) lab at NYU, directed by Dr. Natalie H. Brito, is seeking a part-time Associate Research Scientist to being as early as December 2025. The Associate Research Scientist will work with a team of postdocs, graduate students, and undergraduate researchers and on projects examining early trajectories of brain and behavior during infancy and toddlerhood. Associate Research Scientist Responsibilities:
  • Conducting studies with families (e.g., recruiting, scheduling, and data collection)
  • Performing general administrative duties (e.g., data management and overseeing participant data entry)
  • Data processing and coding

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly base rate for this position is $26/hour. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Per NYU's remote-work policy, this position is expected to be fully in-person.
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or previous experience collecting data within a developmental psychology lab
  • Ability to interact warmly and professionally with caregivers and children
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
  • Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends for data collection

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous research experience
  • Spanish fluency
