Data Analyst, Senior
The Opportunity:
As data analyst, you love diving into data and turning it into meaningful insights. With the abundance of structured and unstructured data, you understand the importance of transforming complex data sets into useful information to solve challenges. As a data analyst at Booz Allen, you can use your skills and experience to support a mission and use data for good. We need a data expert like you to bring your expertise to develop analytic prototypes that increase the efficiency or capability of analysts to transform operational data into actionable insights.
As a client-facing data analyst on our data team, you'll work closely with your clients to understand their questions and needs and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. Not only will you provide a deep understanding of their data, but you'll also advise your client on what the information means and how it can be used to make an impact on detecting, deterring, and responding to malicious cyber activity (MCA) in a timely and effective manner.
What You'll Work On:
  • Manipulate and clean large, disparate datasets for bulk analysis to identify connections.
  • Utilize different programming languages to modify, write, and execute code, open, read, and modify files, and write output to different files.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to critical stakeholders based on data analysis and findings.
  • Solicit and engage with analysts across your host client team to understand data flow challenges, and gaps in tool or data set knowledge, and brainstorm methods to streamline analytic workflows.
  • Work as part of a team with government, military, and contractor personnel across organizations to research, develop, optimize, test, and document data-related tradecraft, leverage and utilize data source acquisitions and accesses, and troubleshoot data flow issues related to mission needs.
  • Generate actionable recommendations, strategic insights, and data-centric solutions through the collection, interpretation, evaluation, and analysis of large data sets.
  • Use your data analytics expertise to support client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Research, develop, and test data methodologies, and generate cross-functional solutions through analysis and interpretation of large data sets.
  • Contribute to impactful work and guide decision-making across multiple organizations.
  • Apply consulting skills and data analytics expertise by simplifying technical requirements and trends for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Present data findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders using your knowledge of databases, languages such as SQL and Python, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Establish and collect quantitative and qualitative metrics, trend data, and key performance indicators to drive business decisions and technical outcomes.
  • Apply basic data visualizations through different formats.
  • Work with us to drive large-scale business and process decisions through data insights.

Join us. The world can't wait.
You Have:
  • Experience with classified, collateral, and OSINT data sources and query functionalities
  • Experience developing fingerprints, micro-plugins, analytics, and notebooks using client discovery and analytic tools
  • Experience converting data into various formats and preserving meaning
  • Experience as a cyber analyst, including TDNA or DNEA
  • Knowledge of Python, SQL, and regex
  • Ability to select data, join, and enrich various datasets
  • Ability to communicate technical information and recommendations to peers, engineers, and analytic customers
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • HS diploma or GED and 6+ years of experience with data analytics, or Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience with data analytics

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience working with NiFi

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
