Job description

We are seeking a Program Analyst under the Temporary Professional Staffing Services contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs. This project will provide professional staffing services to the Medical and Engineering Department's capabilities at the Long Beach Veterans Affairs Healthcare System (LBVAHCS). Positions will be assigned to specific sections within the department, including Capital Development, Projects & Construction, Business Management, and Maintenance & Operations, and report to the respective Section Supervisor in support of medical center tasks.

The position is on-site, 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, based at LBVAHCS, located at 5901 E. 7th Street, Long Beach, CA 90822.

So, what will the Program Analyst at Terrestris do?

The Program Analyst executes data-related project tasks for projects under the direction of the Program Manager. Provides effective leadership and management to basic projects, ensuring quality performance by the project team. Works with spreadsheet software or relational databases to organize data and may provide graphic design support for projects, including development of deliverables, organizational charts, training materials, and other visual aids. Examine large data sets to identify trends, develop charts, and create visual presentations to help organizations make strategic decisions. Communicates highly technical information to numerous audiences, including senior management, the user community, and less experienced staff.

What does a typical day look like for a Program Analyst?

You will:

  • Attend Space Management Team meetings and support planning coordination efforts.
  • Participate in hospital working groups to align space and operational needs.
  • Conduct database research to analyze patient projections and capacity requirements.
  • Collaborate with informatics teams to support data-driven planning decisions.
  • Analyze data and develop products supporting planning and reporting initiatives.
  • Translate space requirements into long-term project plans and priorities.
  • Assist space surveys, moves, and ensure compliance with federal regulations.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:

  • Authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Bachelor's with 2+ years of experience with data analytics, and a minimum of 1 year of project management experience OR 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of data mining/data warehouse processes, data modeling, R or SAS, SQL, statistical analysis, database management and reporting, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of computer-aided design programs, like AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
  • Experience using geographic information systems (GIS) like ArcGIS.
