Position Summary

The Analytics Intern supports the Warehousing Analytics team in developing modern data, automation, AI, and operational technology solutions for Logistics and warehouse operations.

The internship is designed to provide hands-on experience solving real business problems through analytics, rapid prototyping, AI-assisted development, automation, and lightweight application development.

The role emphasizes learning through practical development and experimentation rather than traditional dashboarding alone.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support development of analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools to drive operational efficiency

  • Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, enterprise LLM platforms, and other emerging technologies to accelerate coding, research, analysis, and documentation.

  • Apply rapid prototyping and AI-assisted coding techniques to turn business ideas into working proofs of concept.

  • Assist in developing lightweight web applications, analytical tools, and user-facing solutions.

  • Support SQL development, data validation, exploratory analysis, and basic data modeling.

  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive reporting, analysis, or administrative processes.

  • Assist with testing and evaluating new AI capabilities and development approaches.

  • Work with warehouse and logistics data across areas such as labor, inventory, service, throughput, maintenance, capacity, and cost.

  • Partner with analysts, engineers, and business users to understand operational problems and requirements.

  • Document solutions, data definitions, prompts, business rules, and development approaches.

  • Complete an end-to-end internship project and present results or a working solution to stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Data Analytics, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or other related majors preferred. Applicants must have at least one year of school remaining required.

Experience: Previous work experience preferred.

Computer Skills: Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)

Travel: Local/Region travel to plants/DCs to support project needs.

The strongest candidate will be curious, technically adaptable, comfortable experimenting with new technologies, and interested in building practical solutions rather than only producing reports.

This role requires the selected candidate to work in office at Tyson Foods' Springdale, AR World Headquarters and must live within a commutable range (50 miles) of the office year-round to be considered. Resume with expected graduation date listed is required for consideration.
