Seeking a skilled CyberThreat Intelligence Analyst to join our security team specializing in strategicintelligence production, technical analysis, and proactive threat hunting. Inthis role, you will research cyber threat groups to evaluate their capabilities,intent, and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and determine how theyimpact current operations. A key component of this position involvestranslating complex technical data into actionable insights by producingintelligence products, briefings, delivering training presentations, andleading collaborative security outreach initiatives to increase organizationalthreat awareness. Additionally, the ideal candidate will support coreinformation security functions, performing foundational duties acrosscybersecurity monitoring, policy compliance, vulnerability assessments, andrisk management to help fortify our overall defensive posture.
As a Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst, youwill monitor networks, analyze emerging cyber threats, and turn raw data intoactionable intelligence. You will collaborate closely with internalstakeholders, the private sector, and law enforcement to detect, disrupt, andmitigate digital risks.
Key Responsibilities
• Threat Analysis: Collect and evaluate raw data using analytical tradecraft to identify trends and reach accurate conclusions.
• Vulnerability Management: Monitor networks, conduct on-demand vulnerability assessments, and investigate security incidents.
• Reporting & Dissemination: Write clear, actionable raw and finished intelligence reports and recommendations for stakeholders.
• Investigative Support: Assist law enforcement with network analysis, criminal investigations, and joint task force initiatives.
• Collaboration: Participate in community working groups and outreach across public and private cybersecurity sectors.
Qualifications
CoreRequirements
• Analytical Skills: Proven ability in critical thinking, intelligence analysis, and social media research.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with SIEMs, network monitoring, and vulnerability platforms (e.g., Tenable, Nessus).
• Data & Tools: Skilled in database exploitation, statistical analysis, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Communication: Strong technical report writing and presentation skills.
• Malware Knowledge: Core understanding of malware analysis concepts and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
• Active SECRET National Security Clearance (with experience in Intelligence or InfoSec).
• Experience working in multi-agency task forces.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, Criminal Justice, Stats, or Math.
• Industry certifications (e.g., GIAC, CompTIA).
• Current DPS employee.
Additional Information:
• This position requires the successful candidate to be willing and available to travel both in state and out of state, including overnight stays when necessary.
• A level II background will be completed on candidates who accept a verbal, conditional offer.
• Attend Subject Matter Expertise development training for this position.
• Completion of SECRET National Security Clearance submission packet (if clearance is not currently held by the successful candidate).
