Job description

Door Tech LLC, an established manufacturer of aluminum storm and screen doors in Lexington, NC, is seeking a dependable Part-Time Production Saw Operator.

Hours: 20 hours per week

This is a permanent, year-round position with a consistent daytime weekday schedule and 20 guaranteed hours per week. The operator will run several types of production saws used to cut aluminum extrusion, including an automated CNC double miter saw, a TigerStop-controlled straight-cut saw, and manual saw equipment.

This is a production position with established expectations for both output and quality. The machines control much of the cutting cycle, but the operator must keep material staged, maintain a steady pace, verify measurements, and respond appropriately when something is out of specification.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate automated and manual saws used to cut aluminum extrusion.
  • Select the correct material, program, length, and quantity from production paperwork.
  • Load, unload, stage, and organize aluminum extrusion.
  • Measure finished parts accurately and verify that cuts meet specifications.
  • Perform first-piece and periodic quality checks.
  • Recalibrate equipment and make approved operator-level adjustments after training.
  • Stop production and separate questionable material when measurements are outside tolerance.
  • Record completed quantities, rejected pieces, and material usage accurately.
  • Maintain an efficient production pace and meet established production expectations.
  • Keep the saw area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow all machine-safety procedures and work instructions.

Qualifications:
  • Previous production saw, machine-operator, or manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with TigerStop, RazorGage, CNC cutoff saws, automated saws, aluminum fabrication, cabinet manufacturing, furniture production, windows, doors, or millwork is a plus.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately to at least 1/16 inch.
  • Strong attention to detail without sacrificing production pace.
  • Comfortable using touchscreen controls and basic production software.
  • Able to recognize when a machine is not operating normally and follow a troubleshooting process.
  • Able to handle and move aluminum extrusion throughout the shift.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Able to work independently after completing training.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Schedule:
  • Permanent part-time position.
  • 20 guaranteed hours per week.
  • Consistent weekday daytime schedule.
  • Exact workdays and hours will be discussed during the interview.

Work Environment:
  • Air-conditioned manufacturing facility.
  • Small-team environment.
  • Hands-on training provided on Door Tech’s specific equipment and procedures.
  • Steady, year-round work.

What Success Looks Like:
A successful operator will keep the saw supplied with material, maintain an efficient pace, produce accurate parts, complete required quality checks, and stop the process when something does not look right.
The hiring process includes a measurement and mechanical-aptitude evaluation. Final candidates may complete a paid, supervised production evaluation after safety onboarding.
Door Tech LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
