Junior Field Technician Job Summary
As a Junior Field Technician at Steri-Clean of Southwest Michigan, you'll respond to biohazard, trauma, hoarding, and extreme cleaning scenes. You will be doing work that genuinely helps people through some of the hardest moments of their lives. You'll work to safely clean, remediate, and restore residential and commercial properties, following strict safety protocols and company procedures from start to finish.
This is a physically demanding, emotionally mature role that rewards people who take pride in doing hard work well. No prior industry experience is required we provide full training. Entry-level candidates start at $20 per hour, with pay up to $24 per hour based on relevant experience. What we're looking for is reliability, a strong work ethic, and someone who wants to build a career with a company that promotes from within. If you have previous experience in cleaning, restoration, moving, or construction, you may be an even better fit.

Responsibilities
  • Perform on-site cleaning, decontamination, and remediation services including:
    • Biohazard cleanup (bloodborne pathogens, crime scenes, unattended deaths)
    • Hoarding and clutter removal
    • Virus and infection control cleaning
    • Mold and odor remediation
  • Empathetic and professional communication with clients
  • Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all OSHA and company safety protocols
  • Operate industrial cleaning equipment and tools (e.g., foggers, vacuums, floor buffer)
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services, materials used, and time spent on jobs
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients in stressful and emotional situations
  • Work in a team environment with flexibility to adapt to different job scopes and schedules
  • Handle biohazard waste according to state and federal guidelines
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency responses (including evenings, weekends, and holidays)
  • Assist with vehicle, equipment, and supply maintenance
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Physically fit: capable of lifting 50+ lbs., standing for long periods, and working in varied conditions.
  • Applicants should reside close enough to reliably commute to the office and respond when required
  • Previous experience with power tools, construction, or restoration
  • Must be able to work in a respirator and full PPE for long periods
  • Must be able to be on call some nights and weekends
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to our office (work vehicles provided)
  • Must have working cell phone
  • Strong attention to detail and integrity
  • Comfortable with body fluids, bloody scenes, strong odors and extreme clutter
  • Ability to pass a background check, driving record and drug test
