**As of September 1, 2021, all new hires will either need to have completed or be in progress of completing COVID-19 vaccination in order to start employment. Influenza vaccination will be required as part of the onboarding process for all new hires as of October 1, 2021. Staff are able to apply for an exemption to the vaccine requirement. **
The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation and operations of the medical staff credentialing functions. Ensures accurate, complete and timely functions of initial appointment and reappointment processes. Works as a member of Medical Staff Services team to communicate effectively and to assure credentialing is performed in compliance with Joint Commission standards, and all applicable state and Federal requirements. Assists with departmental administrative support including but not limited to OPPE/FPPE, various monthly reporting, data reconciliation and operational function as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Accurately perform review of initial and reappointment files for deficiencies and perform follow up on delinquencies. Prepare initial and reappointment files for auditing and committee review.
  • Pursue incomplete and missing information with providers.
  • Responsible for the on-going maintenance of existing providers including but not limited to weekly expirables, tracking of licenses and certifications.
  • Research and solve credentialing/re-credentialing delays & issues with contracting entity in a timely manner.
  • Perform audits to ensure privileges are accurate and maintain current provider rosters.
  • Remain current on policies affecting physician/ provider credentialing and enrollment processes.
  • Process medical staff initial application requests. Process dues payments.
  • Maintain databases, spreadsheets, primary source verifications, track licenses, certifications and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with department projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Associates degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years of working experience in a healthcare setting is required.
• Knowledge of Medical Staff credentialing preferred.
• Knowledge of Credentialing Software is preferred.
