Part-time adjunct faculty pool in Literature and Creative Writing to fill opportunities on a course-by-course basis as need arises.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Humanities and Arts Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute is regularly seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teachLiterature and Creative Writingcourses.The Literaturefaculty teach introductory courses,intermediate thematic surveys, andadvancedtopic seminarsand haveparticular interestsinAmerican(including African American and Chicana/o),English,andWorldliteratures; poetry;andAmerican and Global cinema. The Creative Writing Program offers introduction, intermediate, and advancedseminarsin fiction, creative non-fiction,andpoetry.

We are looking for outstanding scholars, but successful candidates mustalsodemonstrate teaching excellence and versatility as well as an abilityto jumpintoanexisting curriculum with creative and critical pedagogical approaches.A successful candidate should hold a PhD inEnglish, Comparative Literature, or Modern Languages and Literaturesor an MFA in creative writing.
