Position: Houseparent Aide Part-Time (20-30 HRS per week)

Reports to: Director of Residential Services
Position Summary
Houseparent Aides build vital relationships with our children and assists the Houseparent Couple and Relief staff with daily commitment to the welfare, health, education, and spiritual development of our children. The specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, parenting, teaching, role modeling, and providing safety to the residents assigned to you.

Our Houseparent Aide candidates should:
- Feel called to a life of service and caring for children.
- Be able to function as a dependable team member.
- Ability to work efficiently on several projects simultaneously and prioritize deadlines.
- Follow company policies and procedures designed to maintain resident, visitor, and employee safety. Ensure all necessary steps are taken to provide for the safety and welfare of staff, children, visitors, and volunteers.
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding safety of residents when transporting.
Qualifications:
- Must be cleared through a criminal background and FBI finger print investigation.
- Must be cleared through a drug panel test
- Must complete or have current CPR and First Aid training within 90 days of employment.
- Must attend Boys and Girls Country orientation and pre-service training prior to being assigned responsibility for the care of students.
- Must complete at least 30 hours of in-service training annually.
- High School Diploma or state authorized high school equivalent certificate required (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- A minimum of three years' job related experience. Three years’ experience may be substituted with unpaid church positions and service.
- Must have the ability to create a comprehensive plan with the team’s Program Manager.
- Must be highly organized and enjoy a fast paced work environment.
- Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Valid Texas driver’s license and good driving history.
- Ability to transport children in agency vehicles to include 15 passenger vans.
- Must understand and carry out the core values and mission of the organization.
