What's the Role?

We're looking for an Operations Accountant, to help ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial information across multiple business units. From month-end close activities and balance sheet reconciliations to accounting entries and financial controls, you'll play a key role in supporting financial reporting and maintaining the accounting foundations that help the business operate effectively.

What You'll Do

The Operations Accountant works closely with Business Finance and Accounting teams to support reporting activities, resolve accounting issues, improve processes, and maintain compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys problem-solving, taking ownership of their work, and finding ways to improve how finance gets done.

  • Prepare and record month-end accounting entries, including accruals, inventory, and intercompany transactions
  • Review and process adjustment entries and accruals in support of financial reporting activities
  • Take ownership of assigned balance sheet reconciliations, investigate outstanding items, and resolve discrepancies
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities across multiple business units
  • Maintain key controls and documentation to support compliance and audit requirements
  • Clear multi-contract balances and process reallocation entries as required
  • Support Business Finance teams by providing accurate and timely accounting support
  • Record corporate allocations across business units in accordance with contract requirements
  • Assist with ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects
  • Work with ERP systems, Excel, Microsoft Copilot, and other digital tools to improve efficiency and reporting quality
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual effort
  • Support other members of the Accounting team with task delivery and data validation initiatives
Qualifications

Who We're Looking For

  • A Great Attitude!
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • CPA designation (or CPA in progress) preferred.
  • 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze data, identify issues, and support process improvements.
  • Solid communication skills and ability to effectively tailor messageing for different audiences.
  • Experience with OneStream, NetSuite, Costpoint, or other ERP systems is considered an asset.
  • Comfortable using technology and digital tools to improve efficiency and workflows.
  • Understanding of contract-based accounting environments and basic IFRS principles is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Curious, adaptable, and motivated to continuously improve processes and ways of working.
