Position: Part time contractual Cafeteria Assistant
Location: Northern Middle School
Terms: Part-time contractual
Salary: Starting at $15.75 per hour
Supervisor: Cafeteria Manager
Deadline: Open until position is filled
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrate aptitude for and interest in work to be performed
  • Three written and verified references on file
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Work ethic diploma preferred
  • Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
  • Experience in cooking, food management, and kitchen operation for a private or public organization
  • Clean driving record
  • The ability to multi-task, perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds and the ability to assist another person in lifting 50 pounds.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change

Duties and Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare meals according to standardized recipes;
  • Set up counters, steam tables, serving lines, and assist in serving food;
  • Maintain set standards of food portion control;
  • Use proper serving techniques;
  • Heavy lifting may be required;
  • Assist in keeping food preparation areas in a clean and orderly manner;
  • Carry out cooking assignments and assist in the preparation of raw vegetables, beverages, simple desserts, salads, and sandwiches;
  • Perform other necessary duties as assigned
