TITLE: DISTRICT CONTENT CREATOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High School Diploma.
  2. Demonstrated and effective: communication with verbal and written skill, problem solving, decision-making, quick-thinking and strong attentional organization and details.

REPORTS TO: Communications Coordinator
BASIC FUNCTION:Working under the direction of the District Communications Coordinator, this position develops written, photographic, and video content for district communication platforms, assists with district-level communications projects, and helps ensure communications are timely, accurate, consistent, and aligned with the district's brand and strategic priorities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Normal duties are sedentary at a keyboard; up and down motion in the office; and minimal lifting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Research, plan, photograph/video, and prepare well-structured written and visual content to promote the school/department. Content must be approved by the Communications Coordinator or building/department supervisor prior to being posted on approved digital publishing platforms.
    2. Use school and district calendars to generate posts.
    3. Edit and proofread written pieces before publication.
    4. Promote content on social networks and monitor feedback/engagement (e.g. comments, concerns, and shares).
    5. Use analytics to identify the content most important to stakeholders based on their needs/interests, and respond by generating corresponding topics/features.
    6. Use Brookings School District and school logos, language, and materials to further brand identity.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Salary and work year to be established in accordance with the Board of Education policy.
EVALUATION PROCEDURE:
This position is responsible to the Communications Coordinator and the performance of this position will be evaluated annually.
