Job description

POSITION:  Industrial Technology Teacher

JOB DESCRIPTIONOnamia Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and highly energetic Industrial Technology Teacher. This is a position for a Technology Education, Agriculture or Careers and Technology Education Teacher. The instructor will create a classroom environment that fosters learning skills across a variety of  Tech Ed/CTE or Ag subjects, 7-12th grade with classes such as but not limited to Woods, construction trades, architectural drafting, robotics,  or similar classes; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide an excellent education, in accordance with each student''s ability; establish effective rapport with pupils, parents; and to work collaboratively with other staff members. This is a full-time position; open to part-time depending on candidate

The Onamia School District is located along the south shore of beautiful Lake Mille Lacs and is just one and a half hours north of Minneapolis on highway 169. Onamia School District qualifies for student loan reduction/forgiveness programs.

REQUIREMENTS: 

For Traditionally Licensed Educators:

Active License: Must hold or be eligible for a valid Minnesota Tier 2, Tier 3, or Tier 4 teaching license issued by PELSB.

Licensure Field: Licensed in Industrial Arts, Technology Education, or Agriculture licensure or an applicable Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway (e.g., Construction Careers, Manufacturing Technology, Transportation Careers).

For Industry Professionals & Skilled Trades (Tier 1/Tier 2 Pathway):

Work Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of verified, full-time employment experience in a related trade (e.g., carpentry, welding, automotive repair, precision machining, etc.).

Alternative Education: An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or higher in a related technical field from an accredited institution.

Industry Credentials: Possession of a recognized industry certification or journey-level credential (e.g., ASE, AWS, OSHA, NCCER).

General background in skilled trades, communication technology, woodworking, construction trades drafting, electronics and computer technology used in programing wood working machines

Candidates that do not have CTE, Technology or Agriculture licensure may apply for an Out of Field Placement license and work towards a tier 3 license.
