Your work environment at EXP

We seek a talented Part-time CAD Drafter to join our growing Mid Atlantic Sector. 

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Prepares site sketches, traffic control plans, permit planning and DOT application for a portion or all of a utility construction project at a fast pace environment. Manages and gathers information, data, reports, field notes from work management systems & software.
  • Utilize basic knowledge of utility piping systems & networks
  • Works with dynamic design teams including senior traffic engineers, utility engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers and structural engineers, at a fast and progressive environment
  • Work may include generating drawings from scratch with minimal direction and oversight to revising drawings based on mark-ups from others under a EIT or PE supervision.
  • Prepares project drawings, calculations, and specifications
  • Familiar with all aspects of construction document preparation and capable of independently making design decisions and preparing the construction document package

What your experience looks like

  • Minimum requirements include a College Diploma in Engineering Technology or Architecture and 1 years of practical drafting & engineering design experience.
  • Basic Knowledge of Traffic Design, Traffic Control planning and MUTCD
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of work management systems and associated software
  • Very strong AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or MicroStation knowledge
  • Ability to work on several projects concurrently
  • Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with the use of computers including spreadsheets, word processing, and engineering software and ability to prepare electronic design calculation documents
  • Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively on a project team
  • Ability to plan ones' own time and manage the time of others, as needed, demonstrates good time management skills
  • Ability to problem solve, complete assigned tasks efficiently, and exercise sound engineering judgment
  • Strong sense of urgency and self- initiative to meet client deadlines

The pay range for this role is $20 to $35 an hour. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
