Overview

The Retail Associate, Hamilton Hammers, delivers an exceptional shopping experience for fans at the Hamilton Hammers team store and merchandise kiosks. This role is responsible for processing sales, maintaining visual merchandising standards, and assisting in game day setup, preparation, and closing.

This is a seasonal role from September 2, 2026, and will end no later than June 30, 2027.

This role pays an hourly rate of $17.95 CAD

This position will remain open until October 23, 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome fans enthusiastically, assist with merchandise selection, and share product knowledge about jerseys, apparel, and novelties.
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) cash registers accurately, process credit/debit transactions, and handle returns or exchanges efficiently.
  • Restock merchandise fixtures, fold apparel, organize displays, and ensure the team store remains clean, safe, and visually appealing to incoming crowds.
  • Assist with receiving shipments, counting stock, and organizing inventory in the backroom to minimize product shrinkage.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year in retail sales, customer service, or hospitality preferred (sports/entertainment venue experience is a plus).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to converse easily with passionate fans, families, and corporate clients.
  • Comfortable utilizing modern POS systems, tablet registers, and contactless payment methods.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, especially during pre-game rushes, intermissions, and post-game.
  • Flexible schedule is required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays according to the Hamilton Hammers home game schedule.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing and moving for extended periods (up to 4-6 hours per shift).
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy merchandise boxes.
