About This Role

We are seeking a part-time Animal Technician who will be responsible for monitoring daily animal health and welfare while performing animal husbandry duties to maintain the quality and health of our animals. We will provide training for the daily tasks of feeding, cleaning and visual welfare checks. The ideal candidate is able to commit to a consistent schedule and is reliable. This opportunity is well-suited for people looking for a flexible, part-time schedule.

This role reports to the Senior Engineer, Animal Facility.

This is an onsite position based out of our Animal Facility in Dixon. The working hours for this position are 2 hours a day on Sunday and Mondays, with flexibility to start between 5am-9am PT. This role will require flexibility to work other days from time to time based on needs. This role requires working on the weekends and holidays as needed based on the determined schedule.


What You’ll Do

  • Monitor the health and well-being of the animals and provide food and water.
  • Collect data daily and enter the data into databases.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain records to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to biosecurity measures.
  • Other duties as required.

The base compensation range for this position is $25-$27 per hour. The range provided is an estimate. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
