Part-time Van Driver and Facilities Maintenance


OPENING DATE: 06/09/2026

SALARY: $17.32 - $25.98 Hourly (salary will normally begin at the first step of the range, dependent upon education and experience)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, this position provides transportation for the senior citizens of Riverton and the surrounding communities to and from the Riverton Senior Center, and also performs custodial duties at the Community Center. This is a part-time position, working up to 20 hours per week. Availability on Fridays and Saturdays, including both day and evening shifts, is required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

(These examples are not all-inclusive)

  • Transportation of senior citizens from the surrounding communities to and from the Riverton Senior Center in a 14-passenger van.
  • Custodial duties such as vacuuming, sweeping, emptying trash, cleaning, and stocking bathrooms in the Community Center.
  • Prepare room set-up for facility rentals.
  • Assist with set-up or take-down for city events and programs.
  • Check in/out hourly rental patrons.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma, or equivalent, is required.
  • Must have a Utah driver's license with a good driving record.
  • 1+ years of experience in general custodial maintenance preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Able to work Thursday and Friday evenings and most Saturdays.
  • Experience with driving a 14-person or larger van preferred.
  • 1+ years of general custodial maintenance preferred.
  • 1+ years of commercial cleaning equipment, i.e., floor buffer, vacuum cleaner, etc., preferred
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Good multi-tasking skills preferred.
  • Must have excellent customer orientation skills.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check (including a driving record review), and Human Performance Evaluation (HPE); be able to lift up to 50 pounds; and provide employment eligibility verification as required by Form I-9. This position is subject to a six-month probationary period.
