VETERINARY INVENTORY SUPPORT ASSISTANT REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing needs
  • Strong communication and professionalism

  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management software

  • Ability to regularly lift and transport up to 50 pounds

WHAT VITAL ASSISTANCE DO YOU PROVIDE?
This part-time position averages 15 - 29 hours per week and is currently anticipated to work approximately 2-3 shifts per week, generally around 8 hours per shift. Current scheduling needs are primarily Tuesday and Wednesday from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., though specific days and hours may vary based on candidate availability and hospital needs. As a 24/7 facility, schedules may occasionally include weekends, holidays, evenings, or overnight shifts.
As a part-time Veterinary Inventory Support Assistant, you will support maintaining the supplies and inventory needed to keep the hospital operating efficiently. You will receive, verify, unpack, and stock deliveries of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, laboratory supplies, food, office supplies, and other items. Throughout your shift, you will organize storage areas, rotate inventory using FEFO/FIFO practices, monitor stock levels and expiration dates, assist with inventory counts, and help maintain accurate records.
You will restock treatment areas, exam rooms, surgery, ICU, pharmacy, laboratory, and other departments while helping prepare supplies for hospital staff. You will also assist with inventory ordering, purchase orders, vendor returns, product recalls, documentation, and special inventory projects. In addition, you will help keep stockrooms, refrigerators, freezers, and supply areas clean, organized, and compliant with hospital protocols and manufacturer recommendations.
