Job description

Part-Time Tutor

We are currently seeking part-time tutors for our GradePower Learning Southwest Austin location. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching reading, writing, and math. We seek tutors who are passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Tutors at GradePower Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements:

You may select your schedule. GradePower Learning has shifts available from as early as 3:30pm to as late as 7:00pm. We also hold classes on Saturday mornings from 9:00am-12:30pm. Relationship-building with students is important, and our students will love working with you; therefore, reliability is a must.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position.

We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or specialization in math or language
  • Teaching certification or a portfolio of classroom or small group experience is preferred

Experience:

  • Some K-12 teaching/tutoring experience preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details):

  • Teaching up to 3 students at a time on individualized lesson plans
  • Following the GradePower Learning methodology
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
