Job description

Job Description:
Centurum is seeking a Drafter and CAD Operator to create and modify technical drawings in support of NIWC government programs in Charleston, SC. The candidate will utilize existing drawings, vendor documentation, and 2D/3D models to develop and modify shipboard and shore-based installation drawings. These include equipment arrangements, elevations, mounting and assembly details, case assembly drawings, and cable block diagrams.
The candidate must be proficient in creating new AutoCAD files from drawings, technical manuals, and military/DoD specifications. Familiarity with linking Excel tables to AutoCAD is required. The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of military standards and designations and must be able to work effectively within a drafting team to complete large-scale projects.
Experience & Requirements:
  • Experience:ย Minimum of three (3) years of experience drafting/illustrating in the electronics field. This includes computerized drafting applications, digital imaging techniques, and the use of AutoCAD to prepare graphic presentations of complex items.
  • Technical Knowledge:ย Familiarity with DoD processes and procedures.
  • Education:ย High School diploma or GED and AutoCAD (or equivalent) drafting certification. An Associateโ€™s Degree in Engineering Technology or a related field is preferred.
  • Software:ย AutoCAD: 1 year (Preferred).
  • Clearance:ย Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Work Location:ย Local telework/remote work is an option.
  • This position is part-time (approximately 20 hrs/wk).
