Job description

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nationโ€™s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for a part-time Warehouse Tagger Operator I to be responsible for Warehouse Operations and production needs. Prepares all shipment tags as assigned. Maintains the assigned work area in a clean orderly manner and perform other duties as assigned at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA. This is a union, part-time position (full-time during pack season, July โ€“ October, and when running production off season; part-time the rest of the year).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides continuous uninterrupted supply of properly prepared finished goods to be shipped.
  • Notifies Warehouse and Production leads, supervisors or managers of any issues with the product.
  • Ensures that all Safety Policies are followed, proper safety equipment is being worn, including but not limited to bump caps, gloves, coats, pants, safety glasses, face shield and hearing protection.
  • Maintain a Daily Production Log Book.
  • Relieves other operators for their breaks in a timely manner and assist others as needed.

Requirements:

  • At least one month of experience and/or training or equivalent in People Soft (navigate through multiple windows, run reports and analyze inventory tags) and Bolton (understand DPS Entry Detail, generate inventory tags, reprint tags and audit PIDโ€™s).
  • Able to read, write, and speak English satisfactorily to perform essential duties.
  • Requires good computer skills - knowledge of Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel โ€“ familiar with pivot tables, and Outlook), and ERP experience preferred.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and able to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.
